New CBA and Seed Equipment Generates New Work

|

On May 26, S. E. Sulenski Co, Inc. signed contracts with Local 63 for both its building trades and residential/light commercial work.  The company has been in business since 1947 and has been predominantly a general contractor specializing in roofing and siding work in the residential and light commercial sectors.  With the passing of its founder last August, the ownership took on new partners and re-examined its business goals.  Several meetings were held between Local 63 and Sulenski representatives, culminating in the new contract.  Additionally, an innovative purchase and sales agreement was also negotiated and executed at the time the contract was signed.  This agreement involved the transfer of sheet metal equipment owned by Local 63.  The equipment was originally stored with the aim of seeding new business enterprises that would put members back to work.  According to Business Manager Michael LaFleur, "Sulenski's long term stability and presence in the industry makes this a promising partnership for us, it will allow us to grow as the company seeks out new opportunities and in turn will provide more jobs for the members of Local 63."  The Organizing Committee welcomes all levels of participation, if you can spare the time and are interested in helping OUR Local to grow, contact the Hall for more information.    None of Us is as Strong as All of Us!
